The Lahaina Interfaith Council will hold an Honor & Remembrance service on Aug. 1, 2026, ahead of the third anniversary of the 2023 wildfire. A community time capsule project and a two-day ‘Lights for Lahaina’ gathering in September are also planned.
- An interfaith remembrance service is scheduled for Aug. 1 at 9 a.m. at Lahaina United Methodist Church, drawing multiple local congregations.
- A Lahaina Time Capsule project invites community members to submit messages, photos, and recordings to be preserved until the fire’s 10th anniversary in 2033.
- The ‘Lights for Lahaina’ two-day event on Sept. 11–12 will include live entertainment, cultural activities, community storytelling, and a Light March through historic Lahaina Town.
- These events mark the approaching third anniversary of the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfire that devastated Lahaina.
