The Maui County Council unanimously approved special event permits for the 2026 Maui County Fair (Oct. 1–4 in Wailuku) and the Aloha Classic Windsurfing Tournament (Oct. 19–30 at Hoʻokipa Beach Park). Both events are expected to draw significant visitor traffic to the island this fall.
- The 99th Maui County Fair runs Oct. 1–4 at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku; last year’s fair drew over 115,000 attendees.
- The Aloha Classic Windsurfing Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 19–30 at Hoʻokipa Beach Park, a popular spectator destination on the North Shore.
- The fair permit covers an extended window of July 27–Oct. 16 to accommodate months of setup and breakdown.
- Both events are expected to boost visitor activity and short-term rental demand across Maui in October.
