The Hawaii Department of Transportation is conducting road work on several major Maui highways through August 20, causing lane closures on routes including Honoapiʻilani Highway and Piʻilani Highway. No closures are scheduled Friday, August 21 in observance of Statehood Day.
- Honoapiʻilani Highway (Route 30) has multiple lane closures in the Lahaina area Monday–Thursday for guardrail replacement, with one lane remaining open.
- A lane closure near Honokōhau (mile markers 35.3–36.1) runs Monday–Thursday for rockfall clearing and slope stabilization work.
- Piʻilani Highway (Route 31) in Kīhei has a 24/7 shoulder closure near mile marker 2 for a new intersection construction project with no end date set.
- All closures are weather-dependent and schedules may change without notice.
- No lane closures are planned on Friday, August 21 due to the Statehood Day holiday.
