Atlantis Submarines has relaunched tourist operations from Lahaina Harbor, running a 48-passenger submarine brought over from Oahu at reduced capacity while the operation rebuilds from fire losses. Tickets are priced at $160 per person.
- Atlantis restarted Maui submarine tours this summer, nearly three years after the 2023 fire destroyed its local sub, tugboat, pier slip, offices, and equipment.
- Operations are significantly scaled back: three daily departures (9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m.) six days a week, down from six daily dives seven days a week before the fire.
- A 48-passenger battery-powered submarine was relocated from Oahu to replace the destroyed Maui vessel, with Fridays reserved for battery charging.
- Fifteen of the 32 furloughed employees have returned, and the tour now includes a walking route through fire-affected Lahaina on the way to the harbor.
- Front Street had just reopened at the time of the late-August tour, and the area around the Banyan Tree remains under barriers.
