Multiple sources report that Mayor Richard Bissen is bringing the Holomua Kākou community outreach program back to Molokai in late June. This initiative aims to provide rural communities with direct access to county services and staff.
- Mayor Bissen will visit Molokai on June 29-30, 2026 as part of the ongoing effort to bring county government services to rural communities
- A community talk story session will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. on June 29 at Kaunakakai Elementary School Cafeteria
- Mayor’s office staff will provide assistance and answer questions 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days at Mitchell Pauole Community Center
- Residents can submit questions in advance via email to public.affairs@mauicounty.gov
- Future Holomua Kākou events are planned for Hana in July and Lanai in August
- The initiative has been running since early 2023
