A 48-year-old Honolulu man was arrested in Texas and charged with making interstate threats against Michigan’s governor via email. He has prior federal convictions for threatening a former president and federal judge.
- Ronald Saville of Honolulu was charged with sending threatening emails to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and state police.
- Saville called the FBI himself and admitted he was planning to travel to Michigan to carry out his threats.
- He was arrested in Abilene, Texas and will be transported to Hawaii for prosecution.
- Saville has two prior federal convictions for threatening former President Bush in 2006 and a federal judge in 2012.
- If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison and $250,000 in fines per count.
