A 55-year-old Kula man died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Pulehu Road in Kahului. This is Maui County’s fourth traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 11 at this time last year.
- Bryan Rhoades of Kula died Saturday from injuries suffered in a June 1 motorcycle collision on Pulehu Road near Omaopio Road.
- The crash involved a motorcycle veering off the roadway and hitting a tree, with the rider not wearing a helmet.
- Alcohol is considered a factor in the collision, while involvement of speed or drugs remains under investigation.
- Maui County has recorded four traffic fatalities in 2026, significantly fewer than the 11 deaths at this point in the previous year.
