A nonprofit-led interim marketplace called ʻUlu o Lele will open at the former Outlets of Maui site on Front Street, bringing up to 50 local vendors and an estimated 90 jobs to Lahaina during its ongoing recovery. The 18-to-24-month project is the first to restore commercial storefronts to Front Street since the 2023 wildfire.

- The modular marketplace aims to host 25–50 local vendors and support approximately 90 jobs, prioritizing Lahaina- and Maui-based businesses.
- The project is designed as an 18-to-24-month bridge while permanent commercial redevelopment in the Lahaina Historic District moves through a heavily regulated permitting process.
- Countywide, five commercial permits have been issued in Lahaina town, two properties are in process, and more than 12 are in pre-application consultation.
- Funding comes from the Hawaiian Council’s Kākoʻo Maui Fund and the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, with backing from Mayor Bissen and county leadership.
