Multiple news sources report that Hurricane Fausto, a weakening Category 1 storm, is tracking north of the Hawaiian Islands and is not expected to make landfall. While direct wind and rain threats remain low, forecasters warn of dangerous surf and strong currents building along east-facing shores through Tuesday. Separately, Category 5 Hurricane Genevieve is active far to the east in the Pacific but poses no threat to Hawaii.
