The County of Maui is hosting its monthly Lahaina Community Meeting on September 2, 2026, covering fire risk reduction, housing recovery programs, and a planned recycling center. The meeting will be held in person and livestreamed.
- The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. at Lahaina Intermediate School cafeteria and will be livestreamed on the County’s Facebook page.
- MEMA will present on the upcoming Waine’e Wildfire Risk Reduction Project, relevant to property owners in West Maui.
- The County Office of Recovery will provide updates on housing assistance and the Ho’okumu Hou rebuild program.
- Resource tables will be staffed by Hawaiian Electric, FEMA long-term recovery groups, and multiple county agencies after the Q&A.
