Mayor Richard Bissen is hosting a series of community budget meetings across Maui County through November 2026 to gather public input on spending priorities for Fiscal Year 2028, which begins July 1, 2027. Property owners can attend in person, submit written comments, or participate online via the County’s Facebook page.
- Eight community budget meetings are scheduled between September and November 2026, covering Upcountry, Pāʻia-Haʻikū, Central, South, West Maui, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and East Maui.
- Residents can submit budget requests online through the County of Maui website at mauicounty.gov/budget.
- Meetings run from 5–7 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the County of Maui Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
- The FY2028 budget being discussed will take effect July 1, 2027, giving property owners an opportunity to advocate for services and infrastructure relevant to their areas now.
