HDOT has scheduled 19 lane closures on Kaua’i state highways during May 17-22 for striping, paving, and maintenance work. Work includes projects on major routes like Highway 56/560 from Līhu’e to Hanalei with alternating traffic patterns.
- Highway 50 will have single lane closures between Kīpū and ʻŌmaʻo from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for rumble strip installation.
- Highway 56/560 in Līhu’e will have center lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. with no left turns allowed during waterline replacement.
- Multiple closures planned in Kapaʻa area including landscape maintenance and guardrail installation work.
- Hanalei will experience westbound lane closures with traffic detoured to Weke Road for paving and crosswalk installation.
- Work schedules vary by location with some daytime closures from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and others overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
