The County of Maui is hosting its monthly Lahaina Community Meeting on September 2, 2026, covering wildfire risk reduction, a new recycling center, and ongoing fire recovery programs. The meeting will be held in person and livestreamed for those who cannot attend.
- The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. on September 2 at Lahaina Intermediate School cafeteria and will also be livestreamed on the County’s Facebook page.
- Maui Emergency Management Agency will present on the Waine’e Wildfire Risk Reduction Project, relevant to West Maui property owners.
- The County Office of Recovery will provide updates on housing assistance and the Ho’okumu Hou program for fire-affected residents.
- Resource tables staffed by Hawaiian Electric, FEMA-affiliated groups, and county agencies will be available after the Q&A session.
