- The initiative is partly a response to continued stress on West Maui’s water infrastructure, which sustained damage in the 2023 fires and triggered extended Do Not Use advisories that weren’t fully lifted until August 2024.
- Hua Momona Foundation has served over 100,000 hot meals and distributed more than 30 tons of produce since August 2023, forming the community trust base behind this newer resilience program.
